Too Cute Titania!!!

Having a bit of a mental block this evening so bear with me...went to work for a 2 1/2 hour shift and got home 6 1/2 hours later, got sooo sidetracked (working on rosters) didn't even get lunch (those of you who know me well, will understand how unlike me THAT is). Anyway, this is my latest christmas card, I am on a christmas binge and its all I make at present.

Sugar Nellies Titania has been coloured with my copics and prismas for a little highlight (still mastering these). I tried to be "crafty" and add a border around her but had a minor incident with said border that resulted in me having to cut her out competely. Dp I cannot for the life of me remember what it is but its really neat, added some of my new ribbon, some brads, pearls, flowers and a dinky little pin made by yours truely. I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday and I am also entering the following:

Another of my spending spree purchases. I love this Sugar Nellie Christmas Garland Stamp, these cuties have been coloured with my copics, then Dazzled with Stampin Ups Dazzling Diamond Dust. DP is Bo Bunny Blitzen Colection and sentiments are also from my latest spree - Holiday Postage Stamps from Whimsy Stamps (also dazzled to within an inch of their lives). Embellishments are allsorts found from rummaging thru my stash.

This card just drove me mad, I had it planned in my head but somehow it didn't make it to paper the same way. Anyway, I am going to post this and then bury said card in my pile never to be seen again...until christmas when some poor unsuspecting person receives this in the mail.

So I decided to follow the sketch over at Sketch Saturday (been procrastinating over this card so long I've probably missed the challenge).

Over at Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog they want non tradional (not me) or distressed and me and this card were both VERY distressed by the time it was all said and done.

Decided to joing Crimbo Crackers for their first ever challenge where "anything goes" - and it all just about went finishing this off.

So image is my new Sarah Kay Noel Santa coloured with copics, crackled and distressed to within an inch of his life (been wanting him for ages and finally got him), DP is Bo Bunny Father Christmas, sentiment is my other newbie - Wimsy Stamps Mini Postage Stamps - love em love em love em. Pearls are old stash, and blood sweat and tears are all mine lol.

This paper is an oldie but a goodie - Bella from kaisercraft, I am trying to use some of my older papers so I can buy new papers "hows that workin for ya" you may ask...well, its not, sadly I still MUST HAVE new papers...but I am also trying to use some of the older stuff.

And my image is also an oldie, I love this little cutie but feel my copic colouring doesn't do her justice. Die cut is from Cherry Lynn (I cut the centre out to go behind image).

Today I followed a sketch over at Sketches by Carly and also Christmas Stampin All Rounds challenge which was to use jingle bells (look closely at her bow and there they are).

Kept it simple as trying to do some cards for Grandma to post and they can't be too bulky.

I decided to follow the sketch over at LOTV this week and used this little cutie (I have a thing for LOTV at the moment) coloured with my copics and my new binge (this year) - prisma pencils. I found this paper cheap at a shop in town yesterday and it worked perfectly with the other challenge that I am following which is Southern Girls Challenge - use polka dots and stripes. I have recently discovered Viva Pearls so attacked the image with pearl overload and also managed to stickle it to death. Holly branch is from another of my favourites at the moment Cherry Lynn Dies and is hot out of the mailbox.

Over at Karens Doodles Kids Challenge, the challenge is Polka Dots and as an extra special treat Karen is offering this Polka Dot Bear to all the kids who want to use it and enter. Neeky (8) hasn't been card making for awhile as she has been busy playing soccer, but she loved this little bear and so created the card above. Neeky used Pink Paislee "Pop Fashion", coloured her bear with my copics, added some buttons for the clowns juggling balls, brads and circles to finish.

Truely Scrumptious had a great sketch this week that I followed, image is one of Kenny K's more "naughty" images, coloured with my copics and spica pen for some shine. DP is Kaisercraft "Shaken Not Stirred", roses are Wild Orchid, bling is Kaisercraft and ribon is from my stash. I created this for the following:

Fab N Funky - 3DP, 2 embellishments, 1 image (3 sheets of Shaken Not Stirred, rhinestones and roses and my Kenny K image)

Gingersnap - Red and Black (main colours in DP and image)

Stars and Stamps - (no glitter) punch, ribbon, emboss (only spica pen...but I don't count that as glitter, SU corners punch, black ribbon, I embossed the top DP with cuttlebug Dots)

Charisma Cardz - Hot, Hot, Hot (can't get much hotter than this!!!)

That's it from me, back to work tomorrow, had an exhausting day, but found out I am going to be a Aunty again, can't wait!!!

Over at Kenny K's they have a great sketch which I followed for this card, I used Kenny K's "All That" Digi Image and coloured her with copics and a little clear spica pen. Dp is Bo Bunny "Peacock Lane", I have covered the oval and MS lace border punch with pearls from Inky Impressions, flowers are all from prima (also used the spica pen on them) and I got DH to sew around the card for me in a zig zag stitch.

I also created this for the following challenges:

Digi Doodle Shop - Distressing (I distressed the paper edges and used Milled Lavender around image and text)

Pixie Dust - Stitching (DH is very handy with the sewing machine)

Delightful Challenges - Using pearls and lace (pearls everywhere and punch is MS Lace Border)

Must fly, off to the library so Narny can choose us both goods books (shes better at it than I am).

I love this image from Tickled Pink Stamps, as soon as I saw the name, I knew I had to have her (Sookie just like my beloved Scottish Foldy). Sookie is coloured with my copics and has a little stickles added to various parts of her outfit and jewellery.

The sketch is from Cards and Things, DP is Papermania "Naughty or Nice", ribbon is from my stash, stars are actually from an old necklace, sentiment is

Over at Sundays with Crissy the challenge is Your Favourite Time of Year. I am constantly amazed that I can work in retail throughout the christmas madness and it's still my favourite time of year!!!
I followed the sketch over at Fussy and Fancy Friday, image of course is Crissy Armstrong coloured with my copics, DP is Bo Bunny "Tis the Season", flowers are also Bo Bunny "Tis the Season", I have added stickles to everything, raindrops, pearls, "fluffy balls" ribbon and text is a SU stamp. I am also entering the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Something Old, New, Borrowed, Blue (my old is the raindrops that I have had forever, new is my white pearl brad in the flower, borrowed is Neekys backward style of card - yup Narny went to open it and it opens upside down which is a classis Neeky cardmaking trait, blue is my blue pearls)

I always find it hard to get my mojo going again after a card making break, and this time was no exception. Work has finally setttled and I found some time tonight to create this cute little boys card. I followed the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. The image is Whoopsie Daisy (coloured with my old faithful copics), I used the colours green and blue to enter the Whoopsie Daisy Challenge. DP is My Minds Eye "Bohemia", brads and leather are from my stash, sentiment I just "whipped Up", punches are SU and CM. I am also entering this in the Paperplay Challenge - Bon Voyage.

I've Got a Boo Boo...I Made a Boo Boo!!!

Got a Boo Boo - My two littlies have very long hair, Neeky's is so thick, it takes forever to dry and I always keep it plaited, The Wahs has fine hair, Narny is 14...say no more!!!
Anyway, I decided to replace our budget straighteners with a pair of GHD's to make it easier to keep the littlies hair under control and Narny "lookin good". They arrived today, and you would all be so proud of me, I straightened Neeky's hair (so much more manageable), then got halfway throught Narny's hair...before I burnt my thumb on them - did you really expect a happy ending to me using such a hot tool???

Made a Boo Boo - 15 minutes after the above incident, I went to parent teacher interviews with Narny (giving everyone the thumbs up as I drove because my thumb was too sore to grip the steering wheel). On arrival and having a few minutes spare I decided to use "the amenitities". due to the thumb incident I struggled valiantly with my zipper in the loo, which meant we walked into our first interview and I hadn't been prompted by Narny (see below). "Narny is wonderful to teach, so bright, achieving merits and excellences" the teacher droned on. "Well, Narny does love her English" I replied proudly in my best parent who knows everything about her childs education voice. Stunned silence followed and a disbelieving Narny and teacher stared at me before chorusing "this is maths"!!!!!!
Prompted = Narny always tells me before we sit down which subject we are at (so I look like a parent who knows everything about her childs education).

It's a card making marathon at our place today, Narny and I spent a nice afternoon creating and the littlies endured my "no electronics day today" better than I thought they would.
Anyway, this sketch is from Moving along with the Times, DP is BG Ambrosia lightly distressed. Tiddly inks have a match it up challenge this week, so I copic coloured this gothic looking image to match the DP, flowers are Wild Orchid, lace and brads are random and all these are lightly stickled, buttons are recycled, sentiment is from can't remember where. I have also followed challenges from:
Townscrapper - Anything Goes (I am sure my grey skin falls into that category of anything goes)
Digi Doodles - Use Scraps - (DP is leftovers - not really a black DP kinda girl so had alot left, lace is a offcut, buttons are odds from my Aunt's late Aunt...phew)
Burtonesque Dolls - Black and White
Colour Me Copic - Black and White/follow technique (I sat with the laptop next to me so I could follow the black colouring technique as shown - I have all even numbered copics so had to improvise)

Happy weekend all, over at Karens Doodles US they have a Christmas in July theme this week, I used this new cutie Bigsby image and coloured him with my copics. Digital Sketch Tuesday have a sketch challenge this week, so I followed that, DP is BG Fruitcake (an oldie but a goodie), flowers are Wild Orchid, Holly is Kaisercraft that I have chopped up and distressed, the beads I coloured to match with my copics. I am also entering this in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge - acatate (I covered seperately the card base, dp strip, top over the image and under image on the scallop with acetate)- oops missed deadline again!!!

It's Christmas Time...Again!!!

Over at Sketch and Stash the challenge was to make a round card, my stash was the DP Eskimo Kisses which I have had since last year and just got round to using today. My image Bigsby (coloured with my copics) from Karens Doodles and following the UK challenge - clean and simple, I have kept my card simple and uncluttered, just using a string of pearls and some stickles on the image and round the scallops. I also combined the challenge at Stamp Something which was a recipe 1dp, 1 image, 1 ribbon. This is also entered for:
Fussy and Fancy Challenge - Christmas in July part 2 (and a christsmas card it tis)
The Shabby Tea Room - Lets make an impression (I embossed the DP with a christmas folder - it is quite hard to see and is better IRL)
Little Red Wagon - Nestabilities (I used scallops for behind the image and sentiment, and circles for image and sentiment and the backing)

Santa is Coming to Town...Sooner Than You Think!!!

This was the sketch over at Sassy Cheryl's this week, I had to turn it sideways to make it work as Santa is quite large. Image is, of course, Sassy Cheryl's, coloured with copics and surrounded by distress ink and distressed edges. DP is Fancy Pants "Christmas Magic", the Kaisercraft chipboard was painted then covered in the glassy stuff that Trace gave me (still no name for that), all the pearls were copic coloured to match and the text is a Kaisercraft rub on, the ribbon was also copic coloured to age and blend it. Finally I spritzed the lot with perfect pearls. This is for the following challenges:
Fortnightly Penny's Crafty Challenge - use 7 of something (there is seven different pieces of paper on this card)
The Corrosive Blog Challenge - Christmastime (yup, it definitely is)

Narny's Nook - Mel's First!!!

Narny had her friend Mel (14) round yesterday and then we all went to watch Eclipse (ooohhh Jacob shirts are sooo unnecessary), Mel is as quiet as a mouse (which is extremely unnatural in our house) so Narny asked if she would like to make a card, it was interesting as she has never made cards before but is very good at art. Mel used this digi image from Whiff of Joy, coloured with copics, cut out and mounted on foam dots. DP is Kaisercraft "Shaken Not Stirred", ribbon is from my stash, a thin strip was cut and attached to the hand like a spiderweb thingy, a few brads and sentiment from SU and she was finished. Mel has entered this is the Bee Crafty Challenge which was 3D

Start of the school holidays, the kids are racing round like chickens with their heads cut off, so I have locked myself in my craft room for some peace and quiet. This is a sketch from IC Sketches, I have used a Whoopsie Daisy image coloured with my copics. The Whoopsie Daisy Challenge was to use Hot vibrant colours, and at Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog they wanted Pearls and Pins, so I coloured heaps of pearls to match the DP (which is MME "Feeling Groovy"), I made the pin myself, as well as the top sentiment, the bttom half sentiment is from Stampin Up, the flower is also coloured with copics to match. I am also entering this in the following Challenges:

Over at Mad for Markers they have an ATC Challenge, as I have never made one before I decided to give it a go and was surprised by how enjoyable it was. The sketch is from CPS Card Challenges miniturised, of course. DP is BG Euphoria, image is from Whoopsie Daisy, the doll was paper pieced and coloured with my copics, using the smallest flower punch I could find, some pearls, an SU stamp and I was done. This was also created for the following challenges:

A Pocket Full of Posies - One for the Girls (this is so cute, perfect for any little girl who loves pink and her dolly)

Was on the P.A at work today, when a customer smiled at me, naturally I smiled back cause thats my job) and next thing he was in front of me...guess what he said..."you have a lovely voice, are you in a choir" (I always knew that was my true calling in life - just need to convince the family of it).

Course, when I told my fellow Team Members they laughed at me - some people just cannot see good talent even when its right in front of them...

Over at Truly Scrumptious they have a "scrumptious" sketch. This little Karens Doodles cutie is coloured with my copics (Narny says my dog looks blue and my card looks orange, and that I should tell you all its more of a rich orangy red) DP is K & Co "Que Sera Sera", brads (sanded to take the shine away), flowers are from Joanna Sheen (I had another version that made Zak weep so I had to change to this flower arrangement) I also coloured a couple with my copics to match, raindrops and button are from my stash, metal thingy is from SU and I made my tag. This is also for the following challenges:
Karens Doodles UK - use a tag (it may be small, but it's pretty cool)
Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog - colour combo brown,blue,green (all in there)
Allsorts Challenge - embossing (I embossed the background in dots and the stripes in distressed stripes).

Did you all notice how good my photos are...that was Zak again...explaining about lights and yellows, and close and far and zoom and no zoom - its what he learnt at Uni this term and it was all for the relatively low price of $4999.00!!!

Neeky and I sat down this morning and made cards, I'll show you her one later. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch and I love this digi image from Amanda Kastner, it comes with a poem sentiment which I have placed inside. I coloured this with my copics (as always), DP is BG Eva, there is clear spica pen on dress and all around the swirls on the DP, stickles on her shoes, pearls are Bazzill, flowers and ribbon from my stash, I made the pin and cuttlebugged the squares, phew no wonder I feel worn out LOL. I also made this for the following challenges:
City Crafter - pink, purple and pearls (they are all on there)
Everybody Art Challenge - pink and green (both are there in all their glory)
The Creative Cottage - pearls and swirls (the swirls are on the dp and pearls are everywhere)
ABC Challenges - X is for extra (this card has extra everything, sparkle, pearls, ribbon (3 types), layers (the image is 3 layers, the bow is a 4th layer)
Cute Card Thursday - reuse, renew, recycle (all the beads on my pin are recycled from old jewellery that was broken)

Another lazy day today, Zak is staying another week, its so nice to have him here, I do really miss him when he's at Uni (he's my boy, Mum's boy).

Phew, what a crazy week it has been, work in their wisdom have decided to give me way more work than there is hours in my day, so the pressures on but my days are flying by. Finally me time - followed a sketch over at Sketch and Stash Challenges, and used my pearl strip and that white sparkly fluffy strip which is stash I have had forever. This image is a digi from Sketching Stamper, I have coloured her with my copics and added stickles diamond and waterfall for some sparkle. Dp is Kaisercraft "Christmas Spirit" seems at the moment that I can't get enough of the Kaisercraft papers, these are some I have had since last christmas. I added buttons, brads, handmade my flowers and transparencies over the squares (which are hard to see), used my Martha Stewart punch and pink and green stitched ribbon. I also stickled the buttons, brads, sentiment and flower. I am also entering this in the following Challenges:

Evening everyone, spent a bit of time today following this sketch from Digi Doodles, I used a Sassy Cheryls Digi image and coloured her with my copics. Dp is My Minds Eye "Ooh La La", I handmade my flowers with my new Nellie punches, added a few brads some pearls and lightly distressed my edges, sentiment is from Kiwi Stamping. Colour Create has a great Challenge on at the moment - white with two colours and an inspirational pic of Johnny Depp (come to Mama) as the Mad Hatter. I used this Goth image from Tiddly Inks and coloured her with my copics. In line with the challenge I chose reds and blacks as my two colours, used flowers, a bow, spiderweb like ribbons, brads, a few staples and a little bling on her dress. My DP is Kaisercraft Shaken not Stirred. I am also entering the following challenges:

Evening all, I used the sketch over at Friday Sketchers for this card - turned the sketch on its side to make it work for me. Image is a Meljens freebie I coloured with my copics, I also coloured my fish charm with copics, DP is my new Kaisercraft "Rewind", border is a Nellie, brads and string are from my stash, added a little stickles to the flowers and I was done. I also created this for the following challenges:

My fingers have finally returned to normal after attaching all those pearls one by one (who thought up that stupid idea, Denise). I used the sketch over at Card Patterns Challenge, digi is Karens Doodles "Cat and Mouse" coloured with my copics, dp is BG Green at Heart, Text is from Sentimental Sundays, I used my Wild Orchid flowers, Nellie leaf Punch, spellbinders for my flourish and cuttlebugged the printed DP, pearls were from a stash given to me by the Bride (remember the wedding earlier in the year). I'm on a cardmaking roll...maybe being ill gives me mojo!!! Finished this card yesterday, but ran out of time to blog it for you all. Anyway this is a sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge - had to turn it sideways to make it work (yup, thats me, always gotta be awkward). I used this little cutie from Mo's Digital Pencil (I am loving her images at the moment), I coloured these guys with my copics as usual, the DP is BG Lime Rickey as are the buttons and brads. I lightly distressed the edges and handmade the sentiment myself (I am just so clever, sometimes I amaze myself), used nesties and a SU punch to finish. I also created this for:
Allsorts Challenge - Buttons (I used four BG Lime Rickey buttons)
Our Creative Corner - Gotcha Cornered (normally my corners are blank so spruced them up with these corners and brads)
Just Us Girls - Digi Image (way to go Mo)

I am starting to get a feel for these male cards (I am following the KISS philosophy -keep it simple stupid). Over at Tickled Pink they had a sketch which I followed, my image is from Mo's Digital Pencil coloured with my beloved copics, DP is a half sheet of Kaisercraft "Superhero" I found that came from who knows where. Brads, button are random from my stash, sentiment is from Scrapping Sisters. I am also entering this in the following:
Stamp with Fun - Fairytale (superheros are sort of a fairytale...aren't they)
Magical Crafts - Male card (my superhero fits perfectly)

Christmas in June!!!

Still at home and feeling completely sorry for myself. This image may look familiar...I coloured it a week or so back, but got carried away and coloured grass and we all know there is no grass at the North Pole, so I cut out the grass, but it didn't fit with the card. Amazingly I didn't scrunch it like I usually do when I make a boo boo and today I decided to put it to good use. I followed The Corrosive Challenge Blog sketch and used this Chrissy Armstrong image from Whimsy Stamps. DP is Kaisercraft "Christmas Carnival", I added a few button, stickles and the quote I found on the internet. I am also entering this in:
Christmas Card Challenges - use scraps (I went white for my card because I have heaps of white scraps, and most of the DP was scraps from other cards)
One Stitch at a Time - Celebrations (christmas a wonderful time to celebrate)

Going Mad!!!

I have had the flu all week, and the kids are starting to go stir crazy as we haven't done anything. Trace took The Wahs for a sleepover and Neeky made crocodile tears and then became my shadow - which is hard to do when I hardly move from the couch. Anyway long story short I decided to do a quick project with Neeky and a challenge at the same time.
Over at Mad for markers the Challenge is to colour on something other than paper. So I got out the poly shrink, now polyshrink and copics are a bit of a problem as you normally use stazon to stamp the image (we all know stazon and copics equals big mess) anything else tends to bleed. So I studied a few places on the net (sorry guys, can't remember where I went), and decided to stamp the image on white paper and place polyshrink over the top and colour. When we finished colouring I stamped very carefully over the image with memento ink (its all I use) then we shrunk with our heat gun.
This is my image - a Sarah Kay cutie, colured with copics (very quickly), photo shows the size difference from before and after I shrunk it.
Neeky chose a giraffe from Hero Arts I think (leave me alone, its the flu, it messes with whatever memory I have left) and my favouorite that she did is the Rachel Anne Millar stamp that we did in a patterned circle (we put the polyshrink through the cuttlebug). The giraffe now stands about 1cm high and the RAM is about 2.5cm across.
NB you really don't want to make them too fidgity...my poor girls arm just fell off!!!

Sarcasm and the fact you're just kidding cannot be seen in a text!!!

Thats right, I texted this to Zak "I sick,if I die before you make it home remember you were always my favourite son" (he's my only son)
he replied "LOL, what if I make it home"
Me texted back (this is where I learnt sarcasm and jokes cannot be seen in a text) "I have the flu, its definitely terminal"
Zak texted "I ring now" the phone went seconds later and a distressed Zak wanted to know if he should try to get home, did he need a extension on his project...
I laughed, and said "just kidding" he yelled and said "*&^&****%^ &*^%% ()*^###, wait till I get home"!!!
So, lesson learned I will never be sarcastic or joke in a text again...at least not for a week or two.......

No work today, so sat down to do the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge, I followed the sketch and used a image from Digi Doodles (the latest digi company I have discovered), their images are fantastic, I coloured this Boy and Vintage Tractor image with my copics, DP is BG Archaic. This card was great fun to create, I did all the things I normally try not to do! I srunched up the image after colouring then scrunched up all the papers, distressed all edges and stapled around the DP, a can thingy with a pull tab that I have had forever and a few brads later and I was done. I am also entering this in the Thursday Taggers Challenge - Texture (I think the metal can thingy with pull tab qualifies)
and the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - Punch it Out (I used circle punches for all my circles)

Those of you who know me well and those who have been following me for awhile, will know that I am slightly accident prone, this usually occurs in the oddest of ways (normally through no fault of mine - innocent eyelid flutter happening here). Tonight Narny and Neeky proved they really are mine. They were folding the washing and next thing I hear shrieks of "help, help" I arrive on the scene to see Narny kind of doubled over sideways with Neeky sort of twisted backwards whilst facing frontwards leaning on the couch - whats up with that you may ask (and believe me I was wondering the same thing), "we can't move" they chorused "why not" I asked "Neeky's hair is stuck in my jacket zipper and we can't get it out" Narny cried "oh, is that all" I answered (living with me and my family, it takes a bit more than hair in a zipper to create a panic session), "Narny half stand up and Neeky you stand right up", seconds later they were freed and Neeky even kept all her hair...this time...
BTW how did it happen...I didn't dare to ask!!!

Yesterday, after being frozen at soccer (my Neeky was player of the day and got $5 - she more excited about the $5 than the player of the day part...and I didn't have the heart to tell her that at her age everyone gets to be player of the day once) and frozen at netball (got the time wrong and the Wahs missed her first half) I settled down to create. I used the Papertake WEeekly sketch and a image from Sassy Cheryl's which I coloured with my copics, DP is BG "Bittersweet", flowers are Wild Orchid, punches are Martha Stewart, ribbon is SU and sentiment is one I've had awhile. Was making this card last night, when Sookie (my beloved foldy baby) decided to assist me...card finished and put aside she plonked her rather substantial buttocks dead centre and sprawled over the rest...of course, being as cute as she is I couldn't make her move and thus my little flowers are now irrepairably flattened!
I followed the sketch over at IC Sketches, and used a Karens Doodles image which I coloured with my copics. DP is MME "Ooh La La", I used my new Martha Stewart punch around the square and made the flowers myself (assisted by Sookie in flattening them for me). I am also entering this in the following:
Karens Doodles - stitching (I false stitched around the edges of the card, because I don't sew...DH does that for me and asking him to sew a card wouldn't have gone down too well)

Took Neeky to her soccer practice tonight (against my will, as I hate the cold), and I should've trusted my instincts, thats right, after practice they had a kids V's parents game (managed to get out of that one), then they had a girls V's boys game and Neeky dragged me onto the field. Now, for those of you who don't know me well, I am very accident prone and am not very sporty - you know the kid picked last ... yup, thats me. So onto the field I dragged, managed to actually kick the ball a couple of times...and one poor dads shins another time...and I am very good at air kicks:), then ... yup, I fell over, and as seems to be the current trend with me attending school sporting events, I landed on a poor soccer child (it's ok, she survived, even handed me my glasses and car keys that went flying). So I now have a pain in my shoulder, which doesn't feel too bad because it is dulled from the pain in my knee and wrist from work yesterday when I fell UP the stairs!!!

I was rearranging my craft room the other night (yes...again, Trace and Viv) and Sookie decided to help me out as she felt it was bedtime and I wasn't heading in that direction. I had taken the bottom two drawers out to sort my stuff and next thing my chubby foldy squeezed her body through the gap, she thought it was a great hiding place and had a blast...my only concern was her getting out of the smallest hole (where her head is in the above photo) Sookie thought because her head fit the rest of her would too...and it did.......after alot of writhing, tugging and squeezing on her part!!!

Over at Sassy Cheryl's everyone is talking about the white on white challenge, so I decided to join in the fun. The hardest part was deciding which white to use - yellowish white, creamy white, bright white, sparkly white, flat white...Image is Sassy Cheryl, card is covered with ribbon, then I cuttlebugged some pearl card stock, added pearl ribbon strips and embellishments, and pearly looking flowers to finish - this was so much fun. This is my card for the WOJ Challenge - make a pocket/money card. Image is WOJ (of course) coloured with my copics, paper Daisy D's "Sweet Baby Jane", I hand made the flowers and added just a few Kaiser pearls to complete the card. Inside I made a very simple pouch for my gift card.

Viv has been hassling me about joining her at the Karens Doodles UK Challenge site and finally I have managed to create something - just for her. Using one of my favourite Karens Doodles images this is for the Animal Magic Challenge this weeek. I have used BG Euphoria paper, coloured my image with copics, made my own flowers, which are distressed and added a few buttons to finish. I am also entering this in the ABC Challenges - T is for Thank You, Saturday Challenge - distressing something, Bee Crafty Downloads - Whole Lotta Fun, Cute Card Thursday - Making Something on your card (flowers) and Our Creative Corner using flowers.

So whilst barricaded in my craft room yesterday, I found this Sugar Bowl Challenge (haven't done one for quite awhile) it's a sketch (have I said these are my favourite). I used Sugar Nellie "Pickin Apples" coloured with...betcha can't guess, alrighht I'll tell you - my copics, paper BG Sugared (heh, didn't even notice that at the time - Sugar Bowl...sugared paper, oh I am on a roll LOL), flower and lace curtesy of Trace, and bits are BG and Prima.

Walking Wounded!!!

OMG, my poor baby - yes, Sookie, she arrived home last night, and was walking even slower than normal (who knew that was possible), she has two bald arms and when she lays down her sagging stomach...which is quite fat and usually hidden by heaps of hair, looks like a pair of butt cheeks (Narny's decription - I just happened to agree with her) and at time a pair of boobs depending on which way she is lying.
This is in complete contrast to crazy Cheeky Monkey who arrived home last year from her op, and proceeded to do laps around the lounge and over the couch and we couldn't get her to slow down even when we put her into a smaller room...in fact, it occurred to me yesterday...did I take Cheeky back to get her stitches out!!! Hmmm, not sure...but her tummy doesn't feel lumpy!

This card was a struggle - I was bored a few months back, so sat and coloured images...but when I went to add them to the card, nothing really flowed, so putting everything together was a struggle. Whitianga Cruising!!!

Here we are at day 5, Narny and I managed to ditch the littlies and DH for an afternoon of book reading and silence.
Day 1 - We travelled via Hamilton where we stopped at the best little shop with everything you could ever want and scored some buttons and fabric for my cards...could've stayed there all day, but Narny dragged me out the door. We unpacked and headed around the coast where we navigated a gravel track (DH was passed by a vintage car on this track - going in the same direction - and I may never let him live it down)to a hidden paradise (discovered only by rich people, one of whom parked a helicopter on his front lawn).
Day 2 - I put in my new upgraded contact lenses and we took the ferry across to Cooks Beach (a 45 minute walk after departing the ferry - EACH WAY) - everything up here is so beautiful and larger than life, so I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted the biggest mushroom I have ever seen growing on the bank I said to DH "wow, look at that"...then realised it was actually a tree stump (hmm newer even more upgraded contacts required maybe).
Day 3 - We drove around to Hahei, and walked 45 minutes down a cliff to Cathedral Cove (again stunning) I was bemoaning my existence and the fact that all parts of me ached, and that in all probability my heart may give out, when I was passed by a girl on crutches...seriously who undertakes that kind of hike on crutches unless they want to put to shame us mere mortals.
Day 4 - I announced that I had no idea why we came here, there is no Macdonalds, everywhere you go its a 45 minute walk and everyone is thin "I must be the largest person in Whitianga" I declared. Never fear the Wahs had my back "no Mum, you're not, yesterday on the ferry there was a lady who was bigger than you", great so I am officially the second largest person in Whitianga!!!

Last night we had a stray cat trying to get in the cat door - "ha, you ugly looking animal" I thought to myself, "I'll fix you", so I dragged a large plastic container close to the cat door so it couldn't come in, but my cats could go out if needed (just not come back in) then I went to bed...and had a lovely sleep. Got up for work this morning (ugh) and...heres the oopsy...I forgot last night that before noticing said ugly cat I had put Paylee and Brandy out to toilet before bed (the poodles) they had spent the whole night outside and never complained...or maybe they did - with my earplugs in, I don't hear a thing - oopsy!!!

Me again, this time following a sketch from I Heart Copics, I have used a Karens Doodles image coloured with my copics, DP is Papermania Amethyst Infusion, flower is Prima and ribbon from my stash.
Had a giggle (to myself) at my title - on a hens night in January we gave the bride to be a crown and she had to approach random strangers and announce that she was a fairy princess, odd looks from some (and hysterical laughter complete with a snort from me).

Over at Karen's Doodles Challenge Blog (Scandinavia) the challenge this week is easter, so I created this very flowery card which also meant I could join the Crafty Calendar Challenge - flowers), image is Easter Bunny Hop coloured with copics, DP is Basic Grey Colour Me Silly (with spots which meant I could also enter the Creative Card Crew Challenge) and flowers were primas I coloured with my copics. My Bunny mean I could also enter the Pile it On Challenge - furry animals. Phew, I'm exhausted just thinking about it all!!!

Over Exercising...It's Complicated!!!

Just got home from watching "It's Complicated" at the movies, absolutely LMAO movie...I will never be able to look my laptop in the eye again!

Tracy and I have started an exercise junket, and I have to say it's all a bit backward...

Wednesday it was raining so we walked laps at the park and got soaked, we took the kids and they had a blast racing around in the rain.

Thursday was a beautiful sunny day so Tracy decided we should go swimming in an indoors pool???
We arrived at the pool (must add here that neither of us can actually swim), in our highly fashionable swimsuits (not). We jumped in, Tracy fitted her goggles, looked at me and I pissed myself with laughter (almost drowning in the process) as she had somehow managed to put her goggles on upside down. Once I stopped laughing and could tell her, Tracy corrected the problem and started breath stroke (the one stroke she does well), I started walking (the one stroke I do well). We flutterboarded, walked, kicked on our backs and once more Tracy struggled with her goggles so I leant her mine, she looked at me and yet again I almost drowned (this time for real as I was halfway down the pool doing my odd stroke thingy heading towards the deep end) as she had my goggles on upside down!!! So we laughed, splashed, breath stroked and odd stroked for an hour and went home exhausted.

PS was so sore this morning, I made the kids walk to school as I couldn't drag my achey body out of bed - I knew exercise was bad for you.

Over at the Karen's Doodles Scandinavian Challenge Blog, they have a sketch challenge for their second Challenge. I decided to make this my first challenge after my creating break of 5 months. I used this little freebie Biggles from Karens Doodles (of course), coloured him with my copics - hello babies Mummy's back, used some Cosmo Cricket Chemistry patterned paper, created the flowers myself, added a bit of bling and voila. I loved this challenge and it feels good to be creating again.

My Sister's Keeper

Yesterday, Tracy and I finally got time to sit down and watch My Sister's Keeper (which we thoroughly enjoyed), and I am proud to say that even though we had the tissues on hand (and an xtra large popcorn I picked up from the movies on my way to her place), we didn't need them (actually I did need the popcorn). We decided it was the environment in which we watched the movie which made the difference. Her lounge, with sun streaming in (making us feel guilty...almost, that we were inside) Cameron and her Nintendo squeaking away in one corner and Bailee very slowly removing her lolly wrappers, a fly that wouldn't leave us along and a break halfway through, meant we watched, but didn't seem to "get right into it". We decided its about atmosphere - dark movie theatre, no interruptions, totally focused on the screen does make a difference to how you interpret and feel a movie. Tracy could not believe how different the movie was to the book - which I haven't yet read.
Anyway, I brought the DVD home, and Narny decided to watch it (on her own, because I didn't really want to see it again so soon) she sat in the lounge, in the dark and came out blubbering like a baby totally incoherent and unable to tell me what made her so sad "it was, blub blub, oh just blub blub, that bit - wipe eyes, oh just the saddest movie ever - nose running, so sad blub blub so sad" finally me saying (once I stopped laughing at her blubbering) "go to bed you're blubbering all over the place."
So, I've decided in a few months I will watch it again (because even checking on Narny I saw bits I had missed), and I am going to the library tomorrow where I will become number 14 on the wait list for the book.

3 Lives Down!!!

Who would've thought this little cutie could get into so much trouble! We were watching American Idol Friday night (thats how we roll) when this odd scratching/not scratching thumping/not thumping noise started, I listened for a while and then wondered if it was Brandy having one of her fits (Yup, thats a whole other story), so decided to investigate. OMG, got to the bathroom door and there was Sookie fighting to keep her head above water in the bath The Wahs had run (not even very deep but deep enough for my Foldy baby)without telling us, but then abandoned. Because her legs are short and stumpy, as well she is chubby with a thick coat and completely sloth like, she would never have made it out on her own (and thats all I want to think about that). So I pulled her out - her heart was flying, she was soaked except the top of her head, and it took a good 10 minutes for her breathing to slow to normal, I dried her off and tried not to think how close she came to drowning. We have explained to the littlies that shes like a real baby (shes my baby) and so thats life number 3 (the other two were her disappearing act, and arrival by plane with crate cracked by heavy object)
Anyway, these pics are Sookie in her lounge chair...note the plush looking coat - a nice bath will do that for ya!!!

I have become so domesticated lately that I am starting to scare myself...and the family. I have been baking the last few weeks, and when I sent food down to Zak at Uni, he phoned to let me know there was a student wanting to adopt me (for my baking skills).

Today, I have created caramel cookies (from my BF's recipe which is in such high demand that her wedding vowels included the vowel to her almost husband that she would always keep a supply of caramel cookies coming just for him) and for the first time I wasn't impatient (I hate waiting for things "TO COOL" and so my cookies always overspread - is that even a word???), my cookies are perfect - if I do say so myself.

I then whipped up a chocolate cake - from the recipe book DH bought me for my birthday that I refused to use for months because HE BOUGHT ME A RECIPE BOOK FOR MY BIRTHDAY (of course, I eventually had to swallow my pride and tell him it was a very good book, and "thank you dear").

I have also downloaded some digi images and am about to help Neeky create her first card for the Karens Doodles Kids Challenge Blog (I am chief cutter outter).

Sookie AWOL...Again!!!

Last night at 2200 hours I decided to head to bed, went to look for my baby (Sookie my cute and chubby Scottish Fold) and could I find her...NO, I searched all through the house (2x), finally at 2230 I awoke Narny to help me look outside (because I am a bit of a Sooky myself at night). We searched all around the back yard and out the front (in case by some miracle she heaved her chubby little body up and over the gate) with our flashlights and shining the laser light in all directions(you may be thinking that the neighbours must've thought we were mad...but we've been here 20 years and they KNOW we are mad).

Finally at 2255 we gave up, came inside and I told Narny to go to bed. As I sat on my bed moaning about where was my darling and how could I sleep without her, guess who appeared in the littlies doorway and plonked her furry butt on the floor - yup, she must've been hidden so far under the bed that I couldn't see her when searching.

So now Narny says I have officially earnt the title of "the crazy cat lady".

BTW my baby and I had a lovely sleep...until she started chewing my toes.

Exercise IS Bad for Your Health!!!

Narny and I are on this keep fit gig (my version), so today we headed to the park to walk a few laps and bought fish and chips for tea on the way home (told you it was my version).

Anyway, we arrived home to Da Da Da Dum (that's a really scary drum roll sound) the gate open and my baby (Sookie the Scottish Fold) GONE!!!

We spent an hour searching then had luke warm fish and chips (mmmm my favourite - please note hint of sarcasm) whilst Grandma recited stories of people who stole cats like my lovely Sookie and even worst people who stole cats like my lovely Sookie and did mean things - yup thats right luke warm fish and chips and horror stories is the fastest way to ruin my appetite!!!

So Narny and I went out for a final hunt and guess whose fat and fluffy butt I spotted racing towards a hole under the house. Sookie heard me but couldn't see me and must've thought I was one of those bad people Grandma was telling us about. I called her and that chubby little kitten did a 360 (as fast as a chubby Scottish Fold can) and raced back so quickly I thought she would bowl me over.

So we are all a happy family again...with a house that now looks like Fort Knox.

Tidbit 4 - Hectic with a Capital H!!!

Phew, last weekend it was all go (20th February) remember, I was to be bridesmaid for my best friend (because matron of honour sounded too old), well, all that took place last weekend, but it also coincided with Zak departing for Wellington and the start of Uni life, so this is how it went:
The bride and groom live in Wellington but got married in New Plymouth - Thursday they drove to New Plymouth to prepare for the wedding whilst DH and Zak drove to Wellington to settle in for Uni. Saturday they prepared to be married whilst DH flew to New Plymouth for the wedding, Sunday DH and I flew to Wellington to catch up with Zak and Monday drove back to Hawera!!!

The wedding was not without it's hiccups - none of them MY doing amazingly
1. Went to pick up suits but the jacket and pants were in different shades of black!!!
2. Went to pick up tablecloths but they had tables and chairs ready for us instead???
3. Rang to get the key for hall to be told another wedding was taking place and we couldn't set up until day of BF's wedding!!!
4. Due to strong winds, Sandstorm on beach so had to move venue to park, we circled the venue whilst guests were moved!
5. Sound system arrived, microphones had flat batteries!!!

The wedding itself was perfect (surprisingly...although nothing else could've gone wrong). Didn't think about it till after but didn't take a single photo!

Tidbit 3 - Moving Out!!!

Guess What, in preparation for heading to Wellington and University, Zak decided to move out of his room and let Narny have it as her current room is the smallest in the house.

So for two days Zak and I cleared the room, painted it lime green and purple and moved Narny's stuff in.

"what do we do with Narny's room" we pondered, so I decided to make the ultimate sacrifice for the family and claim the smallest room in the house for my craft room (it was a hard decision, but I am determined to carry the burden on my shoulders), we spent another day moving all my stuff out of the second lounge (Zak will use this as his room when he returns home for holidays) and now voila I have a room of my own with no Cartoon network blaring in the background as I create.

Tidbit 2 - Meet My Baby

Thats right, meet my new baby. This is Sookie (too much True Blood methinks), she is a Blue Scottish Fold and is 4 months old. I snapped the photo this morning as I couldn't put my hands on an earlier shot.

As with anything I do, Sookie's arrival was not standard. She flew to New Plymouth and I picked her up from the airport only to notice upon arrival home (and when she disappeared under the bed never to be seen again) that something had been dropped on her cage during the flight (hard enough to crack it) and that had given her major willies.

For the first week we could not go near her, make noises, move, even talking unsettled her (yup, I struggled with that one). We had to board up the base of our bed to stop her hiding all day and finally started giving her Rescue Remedy to calm her nerves (by that time I almost needed to start dosing myself as well). All that was six weeks ago and now she has really settled in, and is loved by everyone, she sleeps in our room (won't even get started on how I convinced hubby to let her do that), I bought her a lovely pink wrought iron bed, but she prefers to sleep on the floor beside me (heh, who wouldn't) or between hubby and I.

Tidbit 1 - Words of Wisdom

When you are the last to head towards your holiday spot and you get a text asking to bring some pegs with you, DO NOT be offended when on arrival at camp everyone looks at you oddly as you gallantly hand over two packs of pegs to hang out the clothes......whilst in the background the tent guide ropes blow freely in the breeze.

That's right there is more than one type of peg required on a camping holiday and I still say that the text should have been more specific!!!

NB We were never short of pegs for our clothes!!!

Wow, where has the time gone, finally I have my new computer fixed (yup trust me to get the only dud in the shop) opened my gift christmas day and finally got to use it last week after the whole screen was replaced (duh, Denise, of course it was the whole screen...its not possible to replace half a screen)!!!

So over the next few days I have decided to share with you some catch up tidbits.

And hopefully at some point I will start creating again - although I am enjoying this creative break that I am having.

Hey everyone, welcome to 2010 and the start of a new decade - we have been calculating the facts -

Fact 1. At the end of this decade Zak will be 28, probably married and probably have kids

Fact 2. At the end of this decade Narny will be 24, and probably have kids

Fact 3. At the end of this decade The Wahs will be 20, definintely have kids, about three tattoos and leather pants

Fact 4. At the end of this decade Neeky will be 18, no kids, but loads of opinions about everything from opera singing to the rainforests in Peru

And me, I will still be loving my Wii a great christmas present to all of us this year...in fact in 10 years it will probably be my exact body image (blobby bits and all) fighting it out with the guy with glasses and red shorts! And I will have infra red beams that shoot out of my hands instead of controllers (for those of you familiar with my eh clumsy side I HAVE NOT yet hit the TV with the remotes whilst playing the games).

BTW Grandma has gone home and life is betting back to normal.

Room Swap Part 2!!!

After rearranging my craft room for Narny only on Thursday, I had one of my "thoughts" (usually when I say I have had a thought my family runs because they know it means work for someone).
Anyway, my thought involved moving Narny back to her room, dragging the mattress in from the caravan to make the bed more comfortble and moving Grandma into the craft room...as her original "3 day" stay has past the three month mark and shows no sign of ending anytime soon.
A bit of drama unfolded when I got wedged down the side of the bed and Zak had to drag me out by my legs (with me yelping as a wandering "boob" was stuck behind the bars of the bed as he dragged me in the opposite direction) over the metal rods of the bed that he forgot about (more yelps) to appear out the foot in time to see Grandma and Narny doubled over with laughter at my predicament (yup, the usual family stance...anyone in pain laugh your heart out).
Grandma's stuff came pouring out of Narny's little room and at last count there were 6 pairs of shoes, 9 polar fleece vests, 5 handbags (she is addicted to them) and enought stuff to fill all the drawers in the room plus the big drawer she bought from her place!!!
So after a few minor adjustments to Grandma's bed (when she first tried to get out her legs were moving like rotor blades in mid air but she wasn't going anywhere) we placed a folded blanket down the centre under the mattress so she could roll out, we were done and everyone is happy (except for me who still has no craft room).

I'm Back...Sort Of!!!

Hello World, my laptop has returned, Grandma is still living with us and I haven't made cards in weeks.

I now no longer have an area to craft in (went through a few boxes of tissues over that one). Narny has been living in my craft room since Grandma arrived and as Grandma's stay seems to be indefinite we decided to rearrange my craft room to give Narny a room of her own, so all my stuff has been put away!!!

I do however, think I need to collect a "mobile" stash so that I can start creating again as I really miss "my time". So hopefully by next week I will be back in business.
